IMPLANTAÇÃO DA ASSOCIAÇÃO DOS APICULTORES E DA CRIAÇÃO DA “CASA DO MEL” EM BOTUCATU-SP

Resumo

A apicultura, criação racional das abelhas Apis mellifera, é uma atividade que propicia ganhos econômicos e contribui para a manutenção e preservação do meio ambiente. Essa espécie de abelha é originária da Europa, Ásia e África e pode ser encontrada nas savanas, florestas tropicais, desertos, regiões litorâneas e montanhosas. A grande variedade de clima e vegetação do habitat original da espécie contribuiu para a evolução de diversas subespécies ou raças de abelhas A. mellifera, com diferentes características e adaptadas a diversas condições ambientais. No Brasil, as primeiras colônias de A. mellifera foram introduzidas a partir de 1840, oriundas da Espanha, Portugal, Alemanha e Itália. As primeiras subespécies criadas no País foram: A. mellifera mellifera (abelha preta ou alemã), A. mellifera carnica, A. mellifera caucasica e A. mellifera ligustica (abelhas italianas). Nesta época, a apicultura era uma atividade rústica e o objetivo principal da maioria dos produtores era atender às próprias necessidades de consumo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi descrever as atividades para a implantação da “Casa do Mel” pela Associação de Apicultores de Botucatu-SP e o acompanhamento da construção do prédio da “Casa do Mel”, onde é feito o beneficiamento da matéria prima. O desafio inicial da experiência que culminou na constituição da Associação de Apicultores de Botucatu-SP não era a produção de mel, tampouco a geração de renda e emprego para a população local. Inicialmente, o desafio era fixar as pessoas no campo, ou seja, evitar o êxodo rural. A implantação da Associação dos Apicultores de Botucatu-SP - “Casa do Mel” contribuiu para a melhoria e aumento da produção de mel na região. A entidade AAB - “Casa do Mel” como associação não mais atende as necessidades dos produtores devendo, portanto, ser transformada em cooperativa. A participação do Tecnólogo em Agronegócio foi de suma importância no processo de implantação da “Casa do Mel” e de sua gestão, pois o profissional teve a oportunidade de interagir com o produtor, o produto e o mercado consumidor.

IMPLEMENTATION OF ASSOCIATION AND BEE'S CREATION "HONEY HOUSE" IN BOTUCATU-SP

ABSTRACT

Beekeeping, rational creation of Apis mellifera , is an activity that provides economic gains and contributes to the maintenance and preservation of the environment . This bee species is indigenous to Europe, Asia and Africa and can be found in the savannas, rainforests, deserts, coastlines and mountainous. A wide variety of climate and vegetation of the original habitat of the species contributed to the evolution of several subspecies or races of bees A. mellifera, with different characteristics and adapted to different environmental conditions. In Brazil, the first colonies of A. mellifera were introduced since 1840, coming from Spain, Portugal, Germany and Italy. The first subspecies were created in Country A. mellifera mellifera (black bee or German), A. carnica mellifera, A. mellifera caucasica and A. ligustica mellifera (Italian bees). At this time, the bee was a rough activity and the main goal of most producers was to meet their own consumption needs. Objective of this study was to describe the activities for the implementation of the Beekeepers Association of Botucatu and the creation of the "House of Honey" and monitoring the construction of the building of the "Honey House", which is done processing the raw material. The initial challenge of the experience that culminated in the establishment of the Beekeepers Association of Botucatu was not honey production nor the generation of income and employment for local people. Initially the challenge was to fix people in the field, ie, avoiding the rural exodus. The implementation of the Beekeepers Association of Botucatu- "Honey House" contributed to the improvement and increase honey production in the region. The entity AAB - "Honey House" as an association no longer meets the needs of producers and must therefore be converted into a cooperative. Participation Technologist in agribusiness was of paramount importance in the process of implementing the "Honey House" and its management , as professionals had the opportunity to interact with the producer , the product and the consumer market.
