SISTEMAS DE INFORMAÇÕES GEOGRÁFICAS NA IDENTIFICAÇÃO DE DOENÇAS E EPIDEMIAS

Resumo

Os Sistemas de Informações Geográficas (SIG) são ferramentas de apoio à tomada de decisões e à manipulação de informações planejadas. Com sua popularização e difusão, aumentou-se o interesse de pesquisadores e profissionais de diferentes áreas, quanto às capacidades de sua utilização e empregabilidade. Doenças e epidemias crescem ao mesmo tempo com a expansão demográfica da humanidade, assim o uso de tecnologias no combate e estudo se faz cada vez mais presente nas pesquisas em saúde e controle epidemiológico, conhecer geograficamente doenças e epidemias é um dos princípios a sapiência das mesmas. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo abordar a utilização de sistemas de informações geográficas na identificação de doenças e epidemias. Deste modo, optou-se por realizar um estudo por meio de pesquisas em artigos, boletins, livros, sites, cartilhas, dissertações e teses. Os resultados mostraram casos em que o uso de SIG foram empregados, auxiliando de forma positiva estudos na investigação de epidemias e doenças.

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN DISEASES AND EPIDEMICS IDENTIFICATION

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are tools to support decision making and the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are supporting tools for decision making and the manipulation of planned information. Due to its popularization and diffusion, the interest of researchers and professionals of different areas increased in relation to its use and employability. Diseases and epidemics grow along with human demographic expansion so the use of technologies in the fight against disease and in the study of them becomes more and more present in health researches and epidemiological control, geographically learn about diseases and epidemics is one of the principles of knowing about them. This paper aims to address the use of geographic information systems of diseases and epidemics identification. Used methodology was conducted through research on articles, newsletters, books, websites, booklets, dissertations and theses. Results showed cases where GIS was used and positively aiding studies on epidemic and disease investigations.
